Republicans Against McCain

The Republican establishment is going ape-shit over the possibility of John McCain getting the nomination. Limbaugh has been railing against him non-stop and Ann Coulter has threatened to campaign for Hillary if he gets the nomination (and thereby getting herself in the news again). Today the Washington Post published a piece quoting several Republican senators saying in so many words that he's too crazy to be President. They accuse him of having a hair-trigger temper and getting angry and passionate about things. The increasingly desperate Mittens for President campaign has posted an article accusing McCain of saying "Fuck you" to Senator John Cornyn of Texas over immigration legislation.

In my book, anybody who says fuck you to John Cornyn can't be all bad.

So, here's the Republican establishment's plan for dealing with McCain. Treat him as a raving maniac, mentally wounded from five years captivity in Viet Nam and unfit to be President. They would rather loose control of the White House than loose control of the party.

It's so much fun watching the Republican meltdown.

Sorry to be so late commenting:

The Republican establishment does not oppose McCain enough, in fact his Liberalism is largely in sync with their own RiNO status.

The reason that REAL Republicans oppose McCain is that they did not nominate him.

In New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, and Missouri, (for example) registered Republicans nominated someone else...but most Democrats and Liberals, crossing over in the Open Primaries, voted for McCain, so that he ended up "winning" those states despite losing among Republicans.

McCain is on the record as vowing to defend Roe v Wade, being for higher taxes, amnesty for illegals, censorship, affirmative action, gun control, and a host of other Liberal stances.

He is not a Republican at all. He is even on the record as saying he has a problem with the Republican party, but NO problem with the Democratic party.

He should have switched parties in 2001 or 2004, when he contemplated doing so.
