The highest court in New Delhi has overturned a colonial era law that made gay sex criminal. The decision only applies in the territory of the capitol city, but will likely cause the national government to either repeal the law nationwide or appeal the decision to the supreme court.
Lest we think America is so far ahead of India in gay equality, remember that our own sodomy laws were only struck down in 2003.
