The Senate is currently debating the Defense Authorization bill, which includes repeal of the gay ban. You can watch the proceedings here.
UPDATE: Of course it failed, blocked by a Republican filibuster that couldn't be broken. There certainly wasn't much leadership from the White House on this. Disappointing. Not surprising, but disappointing. Here's what Rachel Maddow had to say:

I am not surprised by their actions. I wish the President would get pissed and start kicking some ass.
