Prince Alireza Pahlavi: 1966-2011
The younger son of the late Shah of Iran has committed suicide at the age of 44. He died at his home in Boston. He follows his sister, Leila, who killed herself in 2001. He fled Iran with his family in 1979 during the Iranian revolution. He earned degrees from Princeton and Columbia and pursued a Ph.D at Harvard. He never married and is survived by his mother, the former Empress Farah Diba, as well as a brother and sister.

What a shame. I remember him when he was a young man. He must have endured unbearable mental torment. I did not know his younger sister had also committed suicide.
This breaks my heart. So very sad. I am going to be offering up my prayers for him, his mama, and his family.
