DA/DT Repeal Certified
President Obama today signed the certification that signals the end of the military's gay ban, known dishonestly as Don't Ask/Don't Tell. This means that this bankrupt, pointless, poorly-drafted, constantly-abused, fear-based law that caused me to resign my Army commission after 12 years will finally stop claiming victims of fear and ignorance in 60 days. About damn time.

Not to complain Sweetums, but a link back to your own story would have been nice. Not everyone is as whorish as I am and would dig back through the archives to read your well written account. I think your story captured what this means and how we have been shortchanged, as a nation, by this misguided policy.
Every time I see the acronym DADT I think of Clinton and how he threw us under the bus just to triangulate. We were the ones who put him over the top during his first election that was so close. That was our "thanks." Having said that, now Obama sure is taking his good, sweet time in making the repeal of DADT official. After all, we of the GBLT community are to be feared.
