On the second full day of marriage equality in the Empire State, I thought it appropriate to feature newlyweds.
Honestly, it's a little sad to be sitting here in Texas watching the festivities in New York, but I'm an optimist. I believe equality will come here, and the rest of the country, sooner than we think. New York was a major turning point and things will progress at an accelerated pace. Mark my words.

I am full of emotion and joy when I see another state allow us to marry, but I don't know what "sooner than we think" means. Down here in the Redneck Crescent -- Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina -- the loathsome fools we elect would as soon eat each other than allow same-sex marriage.
Whooo! And I agree with you completely as usual.
A happy day! Here is a link to NYT. Third row down, third column from left...that's Emilio and Rafael, my neighbors whom you met.
