Now that I have stopped crying I can say this is amazing. I am speechless, beautiful video.
I felt rather awkward and vouyeristic watching this intensely private moment (but I understand that the kids these days think about this differently). But when he said "You want to tell Mom for me?" and he and his father laughed simultaneously - the same laugh - I got a feeling that their bond is great in a way that probably couldn't be expressed in words (although I admire his dad for the continuing emphasis and reassurance of his love and pride in his son). This young man is blessed.
This made my day. Wonderful! Hooray for the demise of DADT! Hooray for brave soldiers, gay and straight! And hooray for loving, accepting parents!
I said this on my Twitter but I want to ask a serious question: are we positive that this is 100% real. It feels a little too perfect for me. Or am I just a monster for thinking so...
