Lesbian Family Harassed at TX State Fair; Receive Apology

The Dallas Voice is reporting that a lesbian couple and their seven year old daughter were subjected to a homophobic tirade by a so-called Christian manning a booth at the Texas State Fair in Dallas.   Latisha Pennington and Dondi Morse said they were walking through the fair with their daughter when a man from something called Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship in America called the family over.  The man told them they would go to hell for being homosexual and threw out misused Bible verses at them.  Not that it matters, but Pennington and Morse were not holding hands, kissing, or showing any sort of affection.  They were just two women and a child, a child who was forced to witness her parents being told they were going to hell.  I suppose the Full Gospel guy has sharp gadar.

The ladies did not take this sitting down.  They complained to fair officials who apologized and offered them free tickets for a return visit. They then contacted The Voice and former Dallas city councilman Craig Holcomb, who is openly gay and runs the Friends of Fair Park.  Holcombe called back to let them know that the Full Gospel homophobe won't be working the booth any more.  That's probably a good thing too.  This Saturday is Gay Day at the fair and his head might explode.  Latisha and Dondi also got a signed letter from the Full Gospel National Director, Roy Brian.  It's not really an apology, but I suppose it's a victory that he felt he had to take time to deal with the lesbians.
