Will you be spending the day at a Super Bowl Party? Are stocking up on Bud Light and Hot Wings? If so, you obviously stumbled onto the wrong blog. What will I be doing today? Well, I could watch the game, I suppose. I'm vaguely aware that it involves two teams from the Northeast; the Celtics and the Mets, I think. Burly men bumping into each other hold a certain appeal but I have the 1970 Doris Day Special, AKA The Doris Mary Anne Kapplehoff Special to watch. It features her guests Perry Como and Rock Hudson, as well as a fashion show (think lots of ruffles, daisies and midi skirts). Hmmm which should I choose? Men in tights or Doris on a bike in a tam and tall socks?

Nothing says GAY like Super Bowl Sunday at Ikea. See you there!
I worked at the 'Hamlet' restaurant on Sunset Strip in '74 I served Doris lunch many times during that year. She is so very nice and I was so very lucky.
Thank God I'm not the only one who couldn't care less about the Super Bowl. My barber last week asked me who I thought would win. I asked him "Whose playing?" He looked at me like I just stepped off a space ship.
