Marriage Equality Passes Washington Senate!
The Washington State Senate passed a marriage equality bill last night by a vote of 28-21! The bipartisan vote included four Republicans. Along the way, several mean spirited amendments were swatted down. These included an amendment to specifically allow businesses to discrimninate against gays if their religion prohibits selling flowers to dirty queers. Another would have put marriage equality on the November ballot. Next, the bill proceeds to the House where support is overwhelming, then to Gov. Gregoire who has championed the bill.
