Visually, it looks great. Leo is meh. The problem is that Gatsby has to be so irresistible that men want to be him, women want him, and everyone overlooks how shady he is. Leo is so not that irresistible.
Oh, I cannot wait! Looks fabulous. Buz Luhrmann is a genius, in my book. I've watched his "Moulin Rouge" at least a dozen times.
As for Leo, I think he will be superior to Redford. Leo's not as pretty as RR, but he's a far better actor.
However, as for Miss Carey Mulligan as Daisy...well, suffice it to say I am still a bit irked that Baz passed me by. Granted, I am a dash...just a dash, mind you...older than the character. But with the right makeup, lighting, cinematography, and digital film magic...well, I could have pulled it off. Just sayin', OK?
