Good News for Obama in Ohio and Arizona

In the midst of all bad polling news for the President since his first debate with Mitt, there is some good news.  First, he still has a substantial lead in Ohio.  Public Policy Polling has put Obama ahead of Romney 51-46%.  Two weeks ago the Ohio polling was 49-45, so it is virtually unchanged since the debate.  This is the third major poll since October 9th to show Obama leading in the critical battleground state.

Second, President Obama has opened up a slim lead in of all places, Arizona.  The latest Rocky Mountain poll released yesterday shows Obama leading Romney 44-42%.  I believe I can safely say that Romney was not planning on defending Arizona.

Finally, Obama is way ahead in early voting.  In states that have started voting, including Ohio, 59% are going for the President verses 39% for Mitt.   More people are voting early than in 2008 when it was an important factor in Obama's election.  No wonder Republicans in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and other states where they control state governments have been working so hard to curtail it.
