The British House of Commons has approved a marriage equality bill by the lopsided vote of 400-175. This is only one of several steps before the bill becomes law. It must also go to the House of Lords and back to the Commons, but the overwhelming support indicates that the bill will eventually become law.
In Illinois, the Senate Executive Committee approved a marriage equality bill that will now go to the Senate floor for a full vote. That vote is scheduled for Valentine's Day!
